Race Recap | July 3 | Delaware Speedway 🏁
JRD Motorsports and the Bingo Country, Jackpot Time #28 team continued their remarkable start to the 2026 season Friday night at Delaware Speedway, recording a fourth consecutive podium finish while maintaining the championship points lead.
Entering the evening atop the standings, the team unloaded with another fast race car. Ryan Dyson posted the 3rd fastest lap in practice, although the team believed additional speed was available. Rather than chasing a faster lap, the crew elected to use the session to complete a live pit stop and install another set of tires, gathering valuable information for later in the night.
Under Delaware Speedway's handicapping format, Dyson rolled off 8th in the heat race. Despite battling a tight-handling race car, the No. 28 steadily worked its way through the field to finish 4th, earning valuable championship points.
Following the heat race, the crew went to work making adjustments for the 35-lap feature event. The changes proved to be exactly what the team needed as the No. 28 took the green flag from the 10th starting position.
Dyson methodically worked his way through traffic, taking advantage of every opportunity to gain positions. By Lap 19, the No. 28 had climbed all the way to 2nd after several passes and capitalizing on a well-executed restart.
With just 14 laps remaining, another caution placed Dyson on the outside of the front row for the restart. Unfortunately, the No. 28 experienced a vapour lock issue over the next two laps, costing valuable momentum and dropping the team back to 5th.
Refusing to settle, Dyson quickly regrouped and charged back through the field once again, reclaiming positions over the closing laps to finish an impressive 2nd and extend the team's podium streak to four consecutive races.
"It was another really solid night for this entire team," said driver Ryan Dyson. "The crew gave me a great race car, and after the adjustments before the feature it was one of the best we've had all season. The vapour lock definitely hurt our chance at the win, but to fight back and finish second says a lot about this group. Four straight podiums and still leading the points is something we're really proud of."
With four consecutive podium finishes to open the season, JRD Motorsports will head into the two-week summer break as the Delaware Speedway Super Stock points leader for the third straight week.
The team returns to action on Friday, July 24 for JRD Partner & Fan Appreciation Night at Delaware Speedway. The evening will also mark a major milestone as Ryan Dyson makes his 100th career start, pulling double duty behind the wheel of the Major Motorsports Pro Late Model and the JRD Motorsports Bingo Country, Jackpot Time No. 28 Super Stock.
