JRD Rebounds with Heat Win and Top-Five Finish

JRD Motorsports and the Bingo Country, Jackpot Time No. 28 team delivered a strong rebound at Delaware Speedway this week after spending the previous week rebuilding the race car.
Following the hard crash at the previous event, the team had to rebuild the entire front end of the No. 28, including the body, bars, suspension, and numerous other components. Despite the extensive work required, the team arrived at the track with a race car that was immediately fast.
The No. 28 was 3rd fastest in both practice sessions, and more importantly, the car felt excellent underneath Ryan Dyson.
Starting 4th in the heat race, Dyson wasted little time moving forward. Within just a few laps, the No. 28 had worked its way into the lead and never looked back, capturing the team's first heat race victory of the 2026 season.
The strong starting position carried over into the feature, with the No. 28 rolling off 4th. Dyson made an aggressive three-wide move on the opening lap to keep the car near the front and remained inside the top five throughout the race.
Unfortunately, the handling began to work against the team as the feature progressed. The No. 28 was just a little too loose through the middle of the corners, making it difficult to challenge for the podium in the closing laps. Dyson brought the car home with a 5th-place finish.
"It feels really good to bounce back like this after the work the guys had to put in last week," said Ryan Dyson. "To come here and be 3rd fastest in both practices and then win our first heat of the season shows how hard everyone worked to get this car back together. We were just a little too loose in the feature, but we're still bringing home a top five. Now we can finally spend the week working on making the car faster instead of fixing it, and that's a huge positive heading into the final races."
The result marks the team's 7th top-five finish in 10 starts this season and provides a strong rebound following the significant damage suffered at the previous event.
With the car now back in one piece, the team can finally turn its attention from repairs to performance. After spending the week rebuilding the No. 28, the focus will now shift toward fine-tuning the setup and finding the additional speed needed to finish the 2026 season on a high note.
