Podium Finish in Season Opener

JRD Motorsports and the Bingo Country, Jackpot Time #28 opened the 2026 season with a podium finish Saturday night at Delaware Speedway in the Dayco United Racing Series and Delaware Speedway weekly series combo event.

The evening began with adversity after an electrical issue surfaced on the opening lap of practice. The crew worked quickly to diagnose and repair the problem, allowing the team to return to the track for a single lap that was still good enough for 6th fastest in the session.

Between practices, the team made several changes including plugs, wires, and additional adjustments that immediately improved performance. The changes paid off with the 3rd fastest time in final practice.

Qualifying was ultimately rained out, setting the feature lineup by practice speeds combined with a top-five pill draw. After drawing fifth, the #28 team rolled off from the inside of row three for the feature event.

Throughout the race, the team remained firmly inside the top five while battling for a podium position. Conditions became increasingly difficult while racing behind a competitor leaking gear oil, creating a slick racing surface and limited visibility for much of the event.

Over the final 15 laps, the #28 machine continued to gain speed and track position, ultimately securing a strong 3rd place finish in the season opener.

“It feels awesome to start the season like that after the struggle 2025 was,” said driver Ryan Dyson. “I am proud of what we did this winter and to see it come together. We’ll be back in victory lane soon.”

Following the opening event, JRD Motorsports sits 3rd in points in both the Dayco United Racing Series standings and the Delaware Speedway weekly championship standings.

The team would like to thank all sponsors, crew members, family, and fans for their continued support heading into the 2026 season.

The team will be off this coming week, with Ryan Dyson set to get behind the wheel of the Major Motorsports #14 Pro Late Model on Friday, May 22 at Delaware Speedway. The JRD Motorsports #28 Super Stock team is scheduled to return to competition May 29 at Delaware Speedway.
